Through programming, education, training, and research, we foster a culture of serious intellectual engagement and rigorous contestation of ideas across fundamental differences at the University of Chicago, in higher education broadly, and in our society.
We live in a world where the well-being and prospects of humanity depend on deep knowledge being wielded responsibly.
The Chicago Forum advances free inquiry and expression so that deep knowledge can benefit society. We do this through convening scholars and practitioners, training students, faculty, and the public, and translating scholarship and research for a broader audience, cultivating scholars unafraid to pursue hard questions, and citizens equipped for pluralism and discourse across difference.
